Tacky glue, a strong adhesive used for a variety of purposes, is a must-have in your paper crafting projects!

Tacky glue is stronger than some other glues used for craft projects, as well as being thicker and less runny. It’s best for light and porous materials, such as paper — which is precisely what we’re working with!

The Original Tacky Glue was invented by Aleene Jackson in the 1950s. From the beginning, this glue has been most commonly used for homemade crafts.

You can use tacky glue for fitting together parts of your papercraft, especially on larger projects. Just apply it where you need to and keep the paper together until it dries — and voila!

Aleene’s Tacky Glue is still one of the best out there. It’s fast-drying, washable, and precise; you can be assured of its time-tested quality. The glue is also non-toxic, making it a great choice for kids as well!

2. Bone Folding Tool

A bone folding tool will help you achieve the neat creases and straight folds your papercraft project desperately needs. Don’t worry — these days, plenty of these tools aren’t actually made of bone!

There are several ways that a bone folding tool can be a big help.

If you’re making a crease, you can press over it with the tool’s long edge to make it crisper. Working with heavier paper? Score a dent with the tool to make it easier to fold!

You can even use it to help control the shape of your 3D paper crafts.

Folding paper with just your fingers can work sometimes, but it’s also really difficult to do precisely. When working with more detailed folds and creases, a bone folding tool will provide all the accuracy and control you need. It can even speed up simpler folds.

Bone folding tools have been used for a long time in different forms. They became commercially popular in the late 19th century when a cheaply manufacturable version was invented.

You can now get bone folding tools in a variety of shapes and materials, and for different purposes (such as paper crafting).

With paper crafting, a simple long shape with a pointed tip will work just fine. If you’re only working with paper, you don’t need to worry as much about toughness or maneuverability.

However, a bone folding tool made of genuine bone will probably last longer than a plastic one. A slightly more expensive tool may also leave fewer unwanted marks on your paper!

3. Craft Magnets

Despite their simplicity, magnets are a surprisingly useful tool thanks to their strong physical forces. You can even purchases ones made specifically to use with craft projects.

When paper crafting, there are multiple use cases you may find for craft magnets.

With their strong pull, craft magnets can be used to keep together components of papercraft creations. They can be pulled apart, too, in case you don’t want the attachment to be so permanent!

Simply secure the magnets under your paper and let the magnets of the opposite poles do their job in keeping the paper together.

One trick is to use another small item made of steel, such as a washer, in place of one matching magnet. These may be weaker, but they’re cheaper too — and you don’t need to worry about using opposite poles!

All you’ll need is the right size of magnet so that the shape isn’t too obvious behind the paper. If you’re working with thicker paper, you also need to make sure that the magnetic attraction is strong enough.

Another way you can use magnets is through helping you display your projects. Self-adhesive magnets are available, and these tools are truly magical!

With these, simply attach the adhesive side to your papercraft so that it becomes magnetic. Then, you’ll be able to display eye-catching crafts on any magnetic surface around your house!
